Knowing why you are the way you are is half the battle.

Doing something about it is the second half.

IEMT does both

IEMT (Integral Eye Movement Therapy)

WHAT IS IT?

IEMT is an effective and swift enquiry model which assists with emotional, memory and identity imprints.

Where it is very common to hear from clients that the years of counselling have caused frustration or not been enough to assist with resolution and change, IEMT will often facilitate a very different experience creating significant lasting change.

Whether you have emotions or an explicit memory based on past experiences which feel to be unresolved, IEMT can effectively work on these and any associated identity imprints and experiences such as fears, phobias, low confidence, anxiety, depression, addictions etc.

I often liken such experiences to the analogy of a house fire – the alarm goes off, they put out the fire, but the alarm isn’t switched off.

IEMT allows clients themselves to accurately measure and assess the changes that are taking place in real time by accessing memories encoded to the associated timeframe and bringing it into the conscious mind to be re-evaluated through the Limbic system (the group of interconnected brain structures that help regulate your emotions and behavior) to then be consolidated as resolved.

Space where this has otherwise been taking up is generally experienced, along with a feeling of balance, calm, lightness, clarity (mental and emotional) etc. Experiencing the present and future planning is no longer in competition with the past. The ripple effects can be experienced in all areas of life - relationships, work, financial, physical, sleep and the relationship with yourself.

A COMMON QUESTION – What’s the difference between EMDR and IEMT? Some differences are -

EMDR –

  •          Traumatic imagery is central to the work and the client is encouraged to "observe" trauma

  •          Uses eye movement as well as tapping and alternating sounds

  •          Utilises affirmations and positive belief statements

  IEMT –

  •          Traumatic imagery is largely irrelevant to the process

  •          Addresses imprints of emotion for creating kinaesthetic change

  •          Addresses imprints of identity for creating change in self-concept

Typically 2, one hour sessions with a 30 minute follow up - $150 per session

  • Trauma is the lasting emotional, mental, or physical impact of distressing experiences. It can show up in different ways - such as anxiety, tension, emotional triggers, or behaviours - sometimes long after the original event. Everyone experiences and responds to trauma differently, and only you can truly know how it has affected you.

  • Hypnotherapy may offer a supportive and gentle way to explore the emotional roots of trauma. In a relaxed state, you may access subconscious patterns and beliefs that influence how you respond to stress or triggers. Some people report emotional clarity, reduced tension, or a deeper sense of calm after sessions.

  • No, this approach does not require you to relive traumatic events directly. The techniques used are designed to be gentle and respectful, helping you release emotional imprints without needing to revisit painful details unless you're ready and willing to do so.

  • Unresolved trauma can influence many aspects of life, including relationships, mood, physical discomfort, anxiety, and how we react to everyday situations. Even events that seem “small” can leave a lasting imprint if not fully processed.

  • Sessions involve guiding you into a calm, relaxed state where we work with the subconscious mind. You remain in control the entire time. The goal is to explore and gently shift patterns that may be rooted in past experiences - at your own pace and comfort level.
